Congregation Or Chadash Capital Campaign

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE: (December, 2006)
The Second Phase of the Campaign for Congregation Or Chadash is now underway to complete the task of building our synagogue as we establish a permanent home.
“With great gratitude to all who contributed to the earlier campaign, we are proud to celebrate the dedication of the outstanding Education Center and announce that work has begun on a new campaign for the construction of our synagogue,” said Sue Briefer, co-chair with Amy Charles of the new capital campaign. All donors to the First Phase of the campaign will be honored at the Dedication Education Celebration, an event for all Or Chadash families to celebrate the opening of the Education Center, 5:30–9:30 p.m., Saturday December 9th at our property.
In 2001, as an expression of commitment to the long-term future of the congregation, the 220 members of Or Chadash took an important step by voting to purchase four acres at 3939 N. Alvernon Way. The following year, the congregation raised more than $2 million to purchase the land, renovate an existing house into functional office space, open the Education Center, and prepare the site for construction of the synagogue.
The next phase of the Campaign will provide funds for a unique and beautiful synagogue to meet our congregational needs for weekly worship services. This facility will offer indoor and outdoor space for social gatherings and events. Features will include a kitchen, classrooms, and a library.
Congregants will receive printed campaign materials with opportunities for donations in 2007. Regular updates on the Campaign will appear in The New Light.
