Education Center Dedication ... December 9, 2006

Our Tenth Anniversary year saw the congregation move closer to its dream of having a synagogue home with the dedication of the new Education Center, December 9, 2006. More than 500 attended Havdalah, Ribbon Cutting, and Celebration on our property at 3939 N. Alvernon Way.

The Dedication, Education, Celebration event honored the donors to the Capital Campaign whose support enabled the congregation to celebrate its Tenth Anniversary by dedicating the new Education Center. Recognition went to Andy Briefer, Building Committee Chair; Brian Hagedon, project architect; and Concord Construction Company.

Special thanks to the DEC Committee, chaired by Meme Aguila and staffed by Cantor Cohen; Or Chadash Sisterhood and Brotherhood; the food vendors and Chanukah Bazaar vendors; Or Chadash Religious School teachers; Tucson Jewish Youth and Or Chadash choirs; Parties Plus; the Blue Rays; and Sandstorm.
Education Building Dedication
Fred Havas, Education Director Brenda Landau, Casey Havas, Jim Whitehill, Betsy Sandlin, Congregation Board President Mitch Karson, and Capital Campaign Committee member and Past Board President Jeff Goldberg cut the ribbon with “official” Religious School children’s scissors.

Havdalah at the Dedication
Cantor Janece Cohen, Building Committee co-chair Dave Nathanson, and Rabbi Tom Louchheim begin the evening with Havdalah in front of the new religious school classrooms.
