Education News
by Brenda Landau

So much has happened during the summer months. Instead of an empty lot, we have four large portable buildings, the beginnings of sidewalks, tractors, bulldozers and lots of construction workers. Every day brings something new. We received positive feedback from our On-Line Religious School Survey and are using the information to improve our program. Registration continues to roll in, and our school continues to grow, but with these exciting developments have come rain, construction issues and a change in our previously planned schedule.

Religious School will begin after Labor Day. Seventh Grade Hebrew classes will begin Tuesday, September 5th, 4:30–6:15 p.m. at our office. Third through Sixth Grade classes will begin Thursday, September 7th, 4:30–6:15 p.m. Sunday School will begin September 10th, 9:30 a.m.–noon. Our plan to open school on our property is delayed and, with the exception of Seventh Grade Hebrew class, school will open with classes at Tucson Hebrew Academy, moving into our new school building later in the fall. We will mail detailed information to you before the first day of school.

Our surveys showed that more than 95% of our students had very positive experiences and progressed in their Hebrew and Judaic knowledge through our religious school. Additionally, many respondents indicated a desire to participate in more family educational and worship activities and we are working on new programs to involve more families in formal and informal activities.

Please join us at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, September 17th, in the THA auditorium, to meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s); and to discuss our plan for the year, involvement opportunities, and progress on our school site.

Remember to join us at our Open House on Sunday, August 27th. If you have any questions prior to school starting, please contact me at the office, 512-8500.

Looking forward to another wonderful year with your children,

    Brenda
